Plant Dyed Stitching Packs in Three Sizes
Colourful packs of vintage and repurposed linen and cotton offcuts, carefully scoured, mordanted and then dyed with plants. Perfect for patchwork and small projects such as needle books, coasters, trivets, pouches, cushion covers etc.
Fabric pieces vary in size but are minimum 5 inches /12.5 cm square. Less colours in a pack means larger cuts of fabric with the overall amount remaining the same for each size pack. Fabrics may have irregular dye patterns or dye marks but this is just part of the beauty of hand dyed textiles.
Each pack includes a selection of mixed weight plant dyed thread (usually perle cotton 8wt and/or 5wt). Fabric and thread colours will vary according to the seasons and what I have available so the images do not always represent the exact fabrics that you will receive.
Available in three sizes:
Mini: total fabric area approx 25 x 50 cm / 10 x 20 inches with 2 x 5m skeins of thread.
Small: total fabric area approx 50 x 50 cm / 20 x 20 inches with 3 x 5m skeins.
Large: total fabric area approx 50 x 100 cm / 20 x 40 inches with 4 x 5m skeins.
Plant Dyed Fabric Care
Plant dyed fabrics may be slightly less colour and light fast than their chemical counterparts. Any transience of these gently luminous colours is part of their beauty and any gradual fading will not detract from the integrity of the piece.
You can prolong the intensity of your plant dyed pieces by keeping them out of direct sunlight. Should they need washing, hand wash with a gentle detergent in cool water and air dry.
